1. Hard Hats
1. All personnel entering the construction site must wear safety helmets correctly at all times.
2. The helmets must meet national standards, specifically GB2811-81. They should be certified by both the factory and an official certification body.
3. Regular inspections of the helmets are essential. Annual testing is required to ensure they remain in good condition. Any helmet showing signs of damage, cracks, or wear must be discarded immediately to prevent accidents.
2. Safety Belts
1. Choose a safety belt that matches the specific job requirements.
2. When working at heights of 2 meters or more, it is mandatory to use a certified safety belt.
3. Safety belts must comply with GB6095-85 standards and undergo regular checks for wear and tear.
4. Never remove or replace parts of the safety belt without authorization. If replacement is needed, use new components that match the original specifications.
5. In situations where no secure point for attaching a safety belt exists, alternative safety measures such as safety nets, ropes, or guardrails must be installed to ensure worker safety.
3. Safety Nets
1. Safety nets must be approved by the local construction safety supervision department before use.
2. The design, materials, and specifications of the safety net must follow national standards, including GB5125-1997 and GB16909-1997.
3. Dense mesh safety nets must be fully enclosed around the construction site to protect against falling objects.
4. Vertical nets and compact mesh should be used on the outer sides of material lifting frames for added protection.
5. When installing dense mesh safety nets, each ring must be securely fastened with appropriate fiber rope or galvanized wire (size 12-14). The distance between fixed points should not exceed 50 cm, and the upper and lower nets must be tightly connected.
6. To maintain effectiveness, safety nets should be regularly cleaned to prevent accumulation of debris or materials.
7. Only after proper inspection and acceptance can the safety nets be put into use.
8. Dismantling of safety nets must be done under the supervision of experienced personnel. Removal should start from the top and include fall prevention measures to ensure safety during the process.
4. Four Protections
1. All open areas, including stairwells, elevator shafts, and exits, must be properly protected.
2. Staircase handrails should be installed promptly after demolition. If not available, guardrails of 1.2 meters and 0.6 meters should be set along the stairs. On the first floor, a safety net should be placed, and every two floors should have additional safety nets or scaffolding.
3. In active elevator shafts, a safety net must be installed at the first floor, and one should be placed every third floor. No vertical transport should occur within the shaft. At each level, a 2-meter-high guardrail or movable door must be installed to ensure stability and security.
4. A shelter must be constructed at the entrance of the building. Its width should exceed the entrance, and its length should be determined based on the height of the structure.
5. For holes measuring 500x500 mm, a wire mesh or fixed cover should be used. For larger holes (500x500 mm to 1500x1500 mm), long steel mesh or a fixed cover plate should be installed. Holes larger than 1 meter should have a 0.6-meter and 1.2-meter double rail around them. Depending on the depth, a safety net should also be installed. Warning signs and illuminated red lights should be placed outside the fence, especially at night.
5. Edge Protection
1. Areas such as balconies without fences, rooftops without parapets, framework edges, ramp sides, and unloading platforms must be equipped with double guardrails of 1 meter height or safety nets.
2. When constructing protective frames on the roof, the height should be 1.5 meters above the roof surface or 1 meter above the parapet wall. These protections must be tied together and connected to the grid system for added strength.
3. If the construction site is near streets, houses, or sidewalks, a protective roof made of wooden planks should be installed. The size of the roof must ensure the safety of surrounding structures.
