Over recent years, the use of formula fertilizers in Huidong has reached 1.7 million mu, with an average annual efficiency increase of 133 yuan per mu. Guangdong's farmland types vary greatly, so the local government has developed a tailored fertilizer supply model: "government soil testing, expert formulas, and farmers building their own fertilizers." Agricultural authorities and designated fertilizer producers share soil testing data. Before key seasons like spring plowing or winter planting, experts formulate customized fertilizer recipes for all counties. Enterprises then produce and distribute these formulations based on plot locations and crop types, offering personalized services to meet farmers' needs. Currently, 95 out of 105 counties in Guangdong have adopted soil testing and formula fertilization. Since the Central Document No. 1 proposed this practice in 2005, Guangdong has consistently prioritized it as a core agricultural technology task. A special fund of 10 million yuan is allocated annually for soil testing and formula fertilization. Over the past seven years, the province has promoted soil testing and formula fertilization across 208 million mu, achieving cost savings of 162 million yuan. Looking ahead, Zhang Yucan, deputy director of the Guangdong Fertilizer Station, mentioned plans to utilize specialized platforms like farmer cooperatives to establish socialized agrochemical service organizations. The goal is to explore a service model where the government conducts soil surveys, experts provide formulas, enterprises supply fertilizers, and farmers apply them. This integrated approach aims to offer comprehensive soil testing and distribution services, helping farmers improve their agricultural productivity and sustainability.
