A company in India produces a "can eat" plastic bag

To solve the problem of plastic pollution, a startup in India called EnviGreen has created a " plastic bag " made from natural starch and vegetable oil. This bag is 100% organic, biodegradable and environmentally friendly, and people can even eat it.
The company's founder, Ashworth Hutch, said in an interview that since some cities in India banned the use of plastic bags and people were worried about finding alternatives, he decided to look for an environment-friendly solution. He spent four years researching and testing, and finally made a "plastic bag" that can be eaten with 12 kinds of raw materials, including potatoes, corn, bananas, and cassava. Hedge did not intend to disclose the production process of the bag, but said that the raw materials had to be converted into liquid, and the finished product had to go through six processes.
Hedge said that although the production cost of this bag is 35% higher than that of plastic bags, it does not damage the environment. It can be naturally degraded within 180 days after being discarded. It can be dissolved in less than one day at room temperature. If you want to hurry again, just put it in hot water and dissolve it in about 15 seconds. “We didn’t use a bit of chemicals, even the paints printed on the bags were natural and organic,” he said. In order to prove that the bag was edible, he also soaked a bag in the water and swallowed it with a smile.
The Karnataka Pollution Control Agency of India has approved the bag for commercial use, but several tests were required before this.
