On the morning of July 1st, the Zhangjiajie Municipal Government organized a joint emergency drill involving public security, firefighting, traffic police, medical teams, and safety inspection departments at the Golden Tower Gas Station, a 10,000-ton oil depot. The exercise aimed to enhance coordination among various agencies and improve emergency response capabilities in case of a major incident.

The ceremony began at 9:50 AM. First, five firefighters demonstrated essential fire-fighting equipment, including reciprocating saws, hydraulic cutters, air respirators, and fire extinguishers, to an audience of local residents and officials. This demonstration not only showcased the tools but also raised public awareness about fire safety and emergency preparedness.

At 10:05 AM, the actual fire drill commenced. The scenario involved a fuel dispenser leak caused by an employee violating operating procedures at the gas station. The leaked fuel flowed through the drainage system and reached the road outside, where it came into contact with a fire source and ignited. Upon discovering the fire, station staff immediately alerted authorities, attempted initial suppression, and requested assistance from the fire department.

By 10:08 AM, fire trucks arrived on the scene. Firefighters quickly deployed and began controlling the blaze. Emergency medical personnel followed shortly after to assist any injured individuals. After ensuring all personnel were safely evacuated, the fire department launched a full-scale attack on the flames. Eventually, the fire was brought under control and fully extinguished.

Once the drill concluded, all participants gathered for a debriefing. Deputy Mayor Liu Hua praised the operation, stating, “This drill was highly successful. Despite the heavy rain, everyone remained focused and contributed significantly to its smooth execution.” He emphasized the importance of regular training and preparedness in safeguarding public safety.
