Zhangjiajie Safety Production Accident Disaster Emergency Exercise

On the morning of July 1, the Zhangjiajie City People's Government organized a joint emergency drill involving multiple departments, including public security, fire services, traffic police, medical teams, and safety inspections. The exercise took place at the Golden Tower Gas Station, a major 10,000-ton oil depot, to enhance preparedness for potential disasters.

The ceremony began at 9:50 AM. First, five firefighters demonstrated essential equipment such as saws, hydraulic cutters, air respirators, and fire extinguishers to the on-site audience, explaining their functions and usage in emergency situations.

At 10:05 AM, the actual fire drill commenced. The scenario involved a fuel dispenser leak at the Golden Tower Gas Station caused by an employee violating operating procedures. Leaked fuel flowed through the drainage system outside the station and came into contact with a fire source, igniting a fire. Upon discovering the incident, staff immediately raised the alarm, attempted to control the fire, and requested assistance from the fire department.

By 10:08 AM, fire trucks arrived at the scene. Firefighters quickly responded, initiating firefighting operations. Shortly after, an ambulance unit rushed to the site to assist any injured individuals. Once all personnel were safely evacuated, the fire department launched a full-scale attack on the flames, successfully extinguishing the fire.

After the drill concluded, all participants gathered for a debriefing. Deputy Mayor Liu Hua praised the exercise, stating, “The drill was highly successful. Despite the heavy rain, everyone remained focused and contributed significantly to the success of this operation.”
