Yinchuan Development Zone builds China's largest sapphire production base

Abstract Yinchuan Development Zone has recently entered into a significant agreement with Tiantong Holdings Co., Ltd., under which the company will invest over 1 billion yuan to establish a large-scale sapphire wafer project tailored for intelligent mobile terminals within the zone. This development marks another milestone in the region's growing sapphire industry, following the successful launch of Taiwan’s Jiajing Technology’s artificial sapphire crystal production project. With these two major projects now underway, Yinchuan is rapidly advancing toward becoming the largest and most advanced industrial sapphire crystal production base in China.

Over the past few years, Yinchuan Development Zone has strategically focused on developing the sapphire industry, recognizing its strong growth potential and long-term market demand. Through targeted investment promotion efforts, the zone has successfully attracted several key players in the sector. For instance, Jiajing Technology, which signed an agreement for 40 sapphire wafer furnaces, has already begun operations just six months later. Now, Tiantong Holdings is set to join the scene, bringing with it cutting-edge long-crystal technology that is both internationally competitive and independently developed.

Once fully operational, this new project is expected to significantly boost Yinchuan’s position as a national leader in sapphire crystal manufacturing. The combined efforts of Jiajing Technology and Tiantong Holdings are not only enhancing the local industrial ecosystem but also reinforcing the zone’s reputation as a hub for high-tech, sustainable development. As the sapphire industry continues to expand, Yinchuan Development Zone is well-positioned to play a central role in shaping the future of this critical materials sector in China.
