U.S. VELCRO develops new touch-sensitive breathable fabrics

Velcro USA Inc., which is known for producing Velcro straps, has recently developed a breathable new high-functionality fabric that is said to provide comfort that the wearer does not feel.

The Evaptex fabric is aimed at the medical market and is also used for fire fighting clothing and lining. It can convect the perspiration of the human skin surface with the air through the fabric, keeping the human body in a comfortable constant temperature range.

The other characteristics of the woven fabric include a soft touch second only to the skin, and silver ion technology, so that it has antibacterial, deodorant, and inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, and can maintain the flatness of the surface.

Daryl Pfaff, senior marketing manager of VELCRO USA and head of the Evaptex Fabrics team, said, “Essentially, Evaptex fabrics make the wearer feel it is not there”.
