This method helps reduce anti-nutritional factors in the cake, making it more digestible for animals. Alkaline Treatment: Mix 100 parts of rapeseed cake with 24 parts of a 14.5% to 15.5% sodium hydroxide solution. The steps following this treatment are similar to those used in the ammonia treatment method. This process also aims to neutralize harmful compounds within the cake, improving its nutritional value for livestock. Washing Method: Fill a tank with water and submerge crushed rapeseed cake in it. Maintain a ratio of 1:6 for cake to water. Allow the mixture to soak for a day, then filter off the water. Repeat this process two more times using fresh water at the same ratio. Alternatively, use hot water—80°C in winter and 50–60°C during other seasons—at a ratio of 1:4 cake to water, keeping the water temperature around 40°C. Soak the cake for two days in summer and longer in winter, then rinse it twice with cold water before feeding. This method removes glucosinolates and other undesirable compounds from the cake, enhancing its quality as animal feed. These methods are commonly used in the feed industry to improve the nutritional value and safety of rapeseed cake for animal consumption. Each technique has its own advantages and is chosen based on availability, cost, and specific requirements of the livestock being fed.
