Cold air activities are quite common in South China and Jiangnan, with frequent rainfall as well. Here’s what we’re expecting over the next few days.
First off, there's frequent cold air movement. On the 26th, affected by this cold air, temperatures dropped by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in Heilongjiang, central and eastern Jilin, and southern South China. In certain parts of northeastern Heilongjiang, the temperature drop reached over 8 degrees.
From the 26th to the 28th, another wave of cold air originating from northern Xinjiang moved eastward. As a result, most of northern China experienced a temperature drop of 4 to 8 degrees, with some areas experiencing drops of more than 10 degrees. Winds of level 4 to 6 accompanied this change. Central Inner Mongolia and northeastern parts of the Northeast saw medium to heavy snowfall, with some areas even receiving heavy snow.
Secondly, there’s considerable rainfall in southern Jiangnan. From the 26th to the 28th, there was a lot of rain in southern Jiangnan, South China, and southwestern regions. Parts of southern Jiangnan and South China experienced moderate to heavy rain, while southwestern Guangdong had heavy rains, with precipitation reaching between 50 to 70 mm.

From 8:00 AM on the 26th to 8:00 AM on the 27th, light snow or sleet is expected in northern Xinjiang, eastern Heilongjiang, eastern Jilin, northeastern Tibet, and so on. In the northwestern part of Xinjiang, there will be medium to heavy snow (3 to 6 mm). In the south of Jiangnan, South China, and southwestern regions, there will be light rain or showers. Southern Fujian, most of Guangdong, southeastern Guangxi, and northern Taiwan will experience moderate to heavy rain, with southwestern Guangdong seeing heavy rains (50-70 mm). Eastern Xinjiang, most of Inner Mongolia, the eastern part of the northwest, and western North China will see 4 to 6 northerly winds. The East China Sea and the Taiwan Strait will have winds of 6 to 8 levels, with gusts reaching up to 9.

From 8:00 AM on the 27th to 8:00 AM on the 28th, small to medium snow or sleet is expected in central and eastern Inner Mongolia, the north central part of Northeast China, the eastern part of Tibet, and the northern part of the western Sichuan Plateau. Northeastern Inner Mongolia, central and western Heilongjiang, and northeastern Jilin will experience heavy snow in some areas, with local blizzards. Southern Jianghuai, Jiangnan, South China, the southwestern part of the country, and Taiwan will see small to moderate rains. Inner Mongolia, the eastern part of the northwest, northeastern China, and northern China will experience winds of 4 to 6 levels. The Bohai Sea and the northern part of the Yellow Sea will have winds of 7 to 8 levels, with gusts reaching up to 9. The middle part of the Yellow Sea will have winds of 6 to 7 levels.
