Chrysanthemum and Sedum, also known as *Sinensis*, are hardy perennial plants. Their leaves grow in a compact rosette pattern, with small, thick foliage that ranges in color from green to reddish-brown. The leaves are glossy and have a unique pointed tip, longer and more slender than that of the silver star variety. The leaf edges are smooth and white, giving them a distinctive appearance. When the plant flowers, the inflorescences rise upward, featuring five petals that are typically white or pink, rather than red. New growth often emerges from the base of the plant after it has been pruned, forming clusters. These plants rarely produce seeds and are usually propagated through cross-pollination. The ideal growing medium for this chrysanthemum is a mix of peat, perlite, and cinder in equal parts (1:1:1). To improve air circulation and prevent direct contact with the soil, gardeners often cover the base with a layer of clean river sand, approximately 3 to 5 mm in size. Watering should be done thoroughly when the soil is dry, avoiding overwatering. During spring and autumn, they thrive in full sunlight. This particular chrysanthemum is kept in a sunroom. When temperatures exceed 35°C, it is shaded with a net to reduce heat stress, and watering is gradually reduced. During summer, it enters a dormant phase, requiring little to no water. As temperatures drop in mid-September, watering resumes, and the plant continues to grow normally even in the warmer days of the sunroom, with minimal dormancy observed. If the temperature remains above 0°C during winter, light watering can continue. If it drops below freezing, the plant should be cut back to avoid frost damage. Even though it's cold, it's important not to overwater. A small amount of water at the root level is acceptable, but misting or heavy watering should be avoided, as it can cause leaf rot. Regular ventilation is essential, and while occasional rinsing is fine, frequent spraying is not recommended due to the risk of rot. Cleaning the leaves occasionally is sufficient. As spring approaches and temperatures rise, watering can be gradually increased. This variety is not particularly vigorous, so it’s important to provide proper shade during the hottest months. In other seasons, full sunlight is ideal. The soil used for planting consists of a mix of cinder, granules, and river sand, with a layer of clean sand on top to enhance drainage. While home cultivation may not fully replicate natural conditions, ensuring thorough drying between waterings is key to healthy growth.
