Boeing has announced that they will complete the "space taxi" by the end of 2015 and plan to launch it at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. By then, NASA astronauts can take this new spacecraft back and forth between Earth and the International Space Station. According to reports, this "space taxi" is actually a spacecraft named CST-100, has 7 seats, can be launched through the "Astronomical God-5" launch vehicle. Currently, NASA is supporting four companies including Boeing to develop spacecraft to avoid over-reliance on Russia’s “Union†spacecraft to deliver personnel and supplies to the International Space Station. Boeing said that the future "space taxi" can not only carry astronauts, but can also be used for other commercial purposes, such as carrying passengers to the UK's Biechlo Aerospace Corp.'s upcoming space exploration facilities such as "sentinel" and other space facilities. For the purpose of construction and future launches, Boeing signed a 15 year lease with the Kennedy Space Center and rented a large space shuttle hangar for the center.
