Using a solution of 2.4–4D at concentrations of 20×10⁻⁶ (when temperature is high) or 30×10⁻⁶ (when temperature is low), apply it to the female flower heads or dip the flowers directly in the solution. This helps reduce flower drop and increase fruit set. Apply this treatment around 8 am for best results. Pest and disease management is equally important. Common diseases include anthracnose, downy mildew, and gray mold. These can be controlled with fungicides like carbendazim, chlorothalonil, or polymyxin. Insect pests such as aphids and whiteflies can be managed using fish vine essence or broom spirit.
